Operators of the drone interceptors of the "West" group of troops have destroyed drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the special operation zone in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). Images of the combat operation are published by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 27.

"Servicemen of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Guards All-Russian Army of the "West" group of forces against the enemy's unmanned aircraft in the air used small drones with setcomets installed on them," the ministry specified.

The footage shows drone operators approaching Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from above in order to catch them. At the appropriate moment, special nets were dropped on the enemy's equipment, which blocked the rotation of the air propellers. This contributed to the fall of the AFU drones to the ground.

The Defense Ministry added that the calculations of combat UAVs of the grouping of troops "North" are on duty in the sky and identify the drones of the AFU around the clock.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the crew of a T-80BV tank of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the 3rd Army Corps destroyed a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) of the AFU on the Chasovyar direction of the special operation zone with two targeted hits.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
