More than half of Ukrainian citizens are ready for early negotiations for the sake of peace. This was reported by the Strana.ua news and analysis website on January 27, citing a survey conducted by the Socis sociological company.

"Last December, 50.6% of respondents said they were in favor of "finding a compromise solution involving leaders of other countries to end [the conflict]"," the publication's Telegram channel said.

It is noted that this indicator is growing. Thus, in February, the number of Ukrainians ready for peace talks amounted to 36.1%, in September - 40.4%, and in October - 49.4%.

In addition, another 19.5% of respondents were in favor of "suspension of hostilities and temporary freezing of the conflict." As a result, the total number of people who are in favor of ending the conflict in Ukraine amounted to 70.1%.

At the same time, 24.9 percent of Ukrainians are in favor of continuing the conflict.

Earlier, on January 9, a poll on the website of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KMIS) showed that the trust of Ukrainian residents in the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024) has fallen by 39% since December 2022. It is specified that trust in the leader as an institution of power fell from 84% to 45%, and as a person - fell to 52%.

Earlier, on January 2, a survey conducted by KMIS showed a decrease in the number of Ukrainian citizens willing to tolerate the conflict. According to the survey, the number of those ready to tolerate the hardships of the conflict has decreased to 57%, before the figure was 63%. A total of 985 respondents were interviewed.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
