The Zabaikalsky Krai lacks 682 forest firefighters. This was revealed during the region's preparation for the fire season.

Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government Nikolai Zakharov specified that 182 candidates have already been selected. 268 units of equipment have been prepared, another 153 units need to be repaired.

ChitaMedia news agency specifies that the Chita airbase needs fire paratroopers. The average salary of an employee of the airbase is 74 thousand rubles, while the average salary of an instructor is 88 thousand rubles.

In late December, the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Sovetnikov named the regions that failed the forest fire season.
