Forecaster predicts record warm weather this week in Moscow

Record warm weather is forecast for Moscowand the Moscow Region this week. It is expected that the warmest day will be the 30th, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist of the Meteonovosti information agency, told Izvestia on January 27.
She noted that earlier this day the previous maximum temperature was overlapped: the temperature reached +4.4, and the record value - exactly +3 degrees was in 1914. There hasn't been such a warm end to January for more than 100 years.
"We expect that tomorrow practically and night and day temperature will be the same. The minimum in Moscow +1...+3, in the region from 0 to +3. Daytime temperature +2...+4, in the region from +1 to +4 degrees. That is, tomorrow we also expect a record, because the record was also observed 100 years ago, and for the 28th day it was 3.1 in 1923," - said the forecaster.
According to her, on January 29, cloudy, warm weather will prevail. In the daytime hours the temperature in the region will be +2...+5. Before that, the highest temperature on January 29 was in 2001 (+2.9).
"In the following days, and January 30 and 31, records of about +3.9 belong to 2016. And we expect to break these records as well. The warmest is expected on the 30th, when both night and day temperatures will be positive. At night somewhere in the range of +2...+4. And daytime temperature +4, in the center even up to +6. That is, the air temperature will be at VDNKh station 10 degrees above the climatic norm", - predicted Pozdnyakova.
However, she drew attention to the fact that in February a slight decrease in temperature is still predicted. So on February 1, small precipitation is expected.
"In the liquid phase will be mixed wet, solid. The air temperature during the day will be the same: - 2...+3", - added the forecaster.
At the same time, it is possible that the first days of the next month will remain with a positive anomaly of air temperature, it will no longer be as large as in late January, said Pozdnyakova.
Earlier, on January 22, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted that this month in Moscow may become the second warmest in the history of meteorological observations. He noted that before that January 2020 was the "hottest".
