An expert reported a 7-10% increase in gasoline prices in Russia by summer

In 2025, if the current dynamics are maintained, the prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in Russia are expected to rise further, by the summer season they will increase from 7 to 10% compared to the current level. Mikhail Komarov, General Director of the program for automation of fleet management "ID20" told "Izvestia" on January 27.
Already in February, diesel and gasoline prices will increase by 1-2% compared to the current level, predicted Komarov. He specified that based on the assessment of the last three months of 2024 and the beginning of January this year, as well as statistics of the last three years and a detailed analysis of the first quarters, by the end of February the cost of Ai-95 and diesel fuel in Russia on average may rise to 63-64 rubles per liter and 70.6-71.5 rubles per liter, respectively.
"This will continue to have an impact on the costs of fleets and end consumers, which will be important for them to find points to optimize fuel costs. Most of all, the change in gasoline and diesel prices will affect legal entities, as their transportation costs are usually higher than those of the average Russian with a private car," the expert explained.
In November last year, the price per liter of gasoline was kept at an average of 60.3 rubles, in December - 61.2 rubles, and in January - 62.2 rubles, which is equivalent to a monthly increase of 1%. The changes in the cost more strongly affected diesel fuel, the price of which in November of the same year was 67.5 rubles per liter, while at the beginning of 2025, the cost per liter exceeded the mark of 69 rubles, thus showing a steady increase in price also by 1% each month.
Earlier in the day it was reported that Luxembourg took the first line of the rating of gasoline availability among European countries at the beginning of 2025. There on the average salary can buy the maximum amount of gasoline (just over 2.7 thousand liters). The second place was taken by Great Britain with the indicator of 2244 liters. Austria, Ireland and Norway are also in the top 5.
