Sobyanin spoke about the contribution of tourism to the development of Moscow

The volume of tourist and excursion consumption in Moscow in 2024 exceeded 1.5 trillion rubles. Revenues to the city budget are estimated at 210 billion rubles, said in his personal blog, the capital's Sir Sergei Sobyanin.
"This means that the bet on the development of tourism fully justifies itself. And our strategy is fully in line with global tourism trends," he noted.
One of such trends, according to the head of the city, is fast decision-making and online consumption of content. Many travelers are accustomed to do everything on the Internet, including on the eve of a trip: choose a route, search and book hotels and tables in a restaurant, buy tickets to a museum or theater. The Russpass ecosystem in Moscow helps Russians with this to a large extent.
In addition, "digitalization" is coming to museums and other places of visit. The use of virtual and augmented reality technologies increases the number of tourists by about 30%. Metropolitan institutions are actively using these opportunities.
Another new global trend is the combination of business and cultural program in a business trip. Specialized forums, trainings, exhibitions and other similar events are increasingly held in old manors, museums and other unusual venues. Moscow has unique competitive advantages in this niche. It is expected that by 2030 business tourism will more than double and reach 8 million people a year.
