FAS demanded that Enlightenment transfer more than 2 billion rubles to the budget

Publishing house "Prosveshcheniye" should transfer to the budget more than 2 billion rubles of illegally obtained income, reported the press service of the FAS of Russia on January 27

"The company has set monopolistically high prices for school textbooks. JSC "Publishing House "Prosveshchenie" holds a dominant position in the markets of school textbooks on the subject lines "Russian language", "history", "biology"," - specified in the agency.

The Service initiated an antimonopoly case against the organization. In the course of the case, the service found that the growth of prices for a number of textbooks of the publishing house in these subjects exceeded the growth of costs for their production and sale. This led to an increase in profitability that significantly exceeded the industry average. The antimonopoly agency recognized Prosveshchenie as having violated antimonopoly legislation.

FAS of Russia issued instructions to the organization to reduce prices for the textbooks and transfer to the budget the illegally obtained income in the amount of 2,033,636,879 rubles. The Service will control the fulfillment of the issued instructions by the publishing house.
