AvtoVAZ announces terms for the start of sales of Lada Niva Sport

Sales of a new sporty modification of the classic Lada Niva SUV are tentatively scheduled for the middle of 2025. Konstantin Gystarov, a leading design engineer of the Lada Sport division, told Izvestia correspondent about it.

"Lada Niva Sport sales will start closer to the middle of this year than to its end," Gystarov told Izvestia.

The prices of the Lada Niva Sport are not yet known. According to Gystarov, now AvtoVAZ is still engaged in their formation. In addition, the specialist shared that the Niva Sport will get even more small-series version called Silk Way - in honor of the rally-raid "Silk Way".

Assembly of the new modification will be handled by the division "Lada Sport", on the conveyor belt of which AvtoVAZ supplies painted bodies "Niva", pre-production of the model began in late December last year.

Lada Niva Sport features sporty suspension and brake settings, as well as the original powertrain: the SUV is equipped with a 16-valve engine with an output of 122 hp (151 Nm at 5000 rpm). The engine is located longitudinally and is combined with a modernized manual transmission (reinforced fifth gear pinions, reinforced clutch housing, single-lever drive transfer case). The interior is finished in a contrasting sporty style.
