In Philadelphia, a car drove into a crowd of people celebrating the victory of the local soccer team (FC) Eagles in the Super Bowl - the final game of the National Football League (NFL) in the United States. This was reported by US broadcaster NBC on January 27, citing police and witnesses.

"Police said a driver hit a group of people celebrating victory on North Broad and Spring Garden streets around 21:30 (local time, 04:00, January 27 Moscow time) after the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders and won a trip to the Super Bowl," the publication said.

According to one witness, the car drove at high speed into at least 30 people. He also said that before the incident, the driver of the car was arguing with a group of people before intentionally running into the crowd.

According to the police, several people were taken to hospital as a result of the incident. The exact number of injured and details of their condition have not yet been specified.

The attacker has been detained, his identity and the charges he will face have also not been disclosed.

Earlier on January 1, it was reported that a truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. After the hit-and-run, the driver exited the vehicle and began shooting. Law enforcement returned fire and eliminated the intruder. According to the latest reports, at least 10 people were killed and 35 others were injured.

After, January 14, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported that in the United States there is a threat of attempts to carry out new terrorist attacks, which will be similar to the incident in New Orleans. It specified that the attackers, who adhere to extremist ideologies, may try to commit a terrorist attack on a similar scenario.
