In Donetsk, a bribery case has been opened against the head of a university department

Investigators of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia's Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Metropolitan Directorate for the Voroshilovsky district have opened a criminal case against the head of the department of a higher educational institution (HEI) for bribery. About it on January 27, Monday, reported the press service of the IC of the DNR.

It is specified that the woman was questioned on the signs of a crime under part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official through an intermediary for the commission of knowingly illegal actions), but did not admit her guilt.

"According to the investigation, from November 2022 to June 2023 on the bank card of the suspect from one of the employees of the educational institution, acting in the interests of the student, received a money transfer in the amount of 45 thousand rubles. The specified amount was intended for obtaining a positive assessment of the student in the state final exam without checking the actual knowledge," - stated in the message of the press service.

The criminal activity was revealed as a result of joint work of investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the DNR and operative officers of the department of economic security and counteraction to corruption of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation "Donetskoye".

The defendant was elected a measure of restraint in the form of signature on not leaving and proper behavior.

The Investigation Committee of the DNR added that the investigation is currently working on collecting and consolidating evidence of the offense. The actions of other persons involved will also be given a legal assessment.
