Unknown assailants opened fire on the Venezuelan Embassy in La Paz, the capital of Bolivia. This was announced by the country's Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa on January 27 in the social network X (formerly Twitter).

"This morning there was an attack on the residence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in La Paz," the post reads.

The country's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and said an investigation into the incident had been launched.

"They [the attackers] fired several shots from firearms, resulting in damage to some elements of the facade," the minister specified details.

Prior to this, on January 13, several Venezuelan consulates in European and Latin American countries were attacked by extremists and fascist activists. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry asked the authorities of Portugal, Germany, Colombia, Spain and Costa Rica to speed up the investigation to find the attackers and guarantee the security of the headquarters.
