Expert told about fraudsters sending phishing links via Telegram
Fraudsters send phishing links to Telegram users on behalf of the service. This was reported on Monday, January 27, by Alla Khrapunova, an expert of the "Popular Front. Analytics" Alla Khrapunova.
As Khrapunova told in a conversation with "RIA Novosti", fraudsters create a special secret chat room in Telegram. In them they inform that a request to delete accounts has been received. And to cancel the decision, users need to follow the link sent.
In fact, the link is phishing - by entering the login and password from his account, the user himself gives the attackers access to it.
According to the expert, so fraudsters can get access to the list of contacts, personal data, photos, video and audio messages.
Prior to that, on January 24, the department for organizing the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that fraudsters send malicious software in Telegram, with the help of which comes virus infection, which entails reading messages and push notifications.
Earlier, on January 22, Sarkis Shmavonyan, manager of work with educational organizations at Cyberprotect, told Izvestia that if unexpected SMS messages with a one-time code from "Gosusluzhki" are received on the phone, and notifications about logging into the account are sent to the mail, while the user himself is unable to log into the account, it may mean that he has been hacked. According to the expert, to protect your account from hacking, you should create a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.
