The Investigative Committee has put rapper Alisher Morgenstern (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent) on the wanted list as part of the preliminary investigation in a criminal case on violation of the rules of foreign agent activity. This was reported by TASS on January 27, citing law enforcement agencies.

"As part of the preliminary investigation in the criminal case <...> the investigator made a decision to declare the figure in the federal and interstate wanted list," the agency interlocutor commented.

It is specified that the investigation of the criminal case against Morgenstern, accused of committing a crime under part 2 of article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the order of activity of a foreign agent), continues.

At the same time, according to the artist's lawyer Sergei Zhorin, the investigation had no grounds to search for his client.

"My client is not hiding from the investigation, his whereabouts are known to the investigator: Alisher is currently undergoing treatment, which he himself has previously publicly stated", - commented the human rights activist.

Earlier, January 18, Morgenstern's property was seized. It is noted that the Moscow Prosecutor's office controls the investigation against the musician.

On the eve of the lawyer of the musician Morgenstern Sergei Zhorin told "Izvestia" that the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has charged the Russian rapper with violation of the law on foreign agents.

Prior to that, on September 8, 2024, it was reported that Morgenstern was prosecuted under part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evasion from the performance of duties provided by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents"). On October 11, the Moscow City Court found the fine imposed on the musician in this case lawful.

The Russian Ministry of Justice entered the artist in the register of foreign agents on May 6, 2022. Morgenstern posted political materials aimed at "forming a negative public opinion on the conduct of politics in Russia".
