People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet gave advice to SHAMAN

Maestro Yuri Bashmet has assessed the prospect of schoolchildren studying the works of popular Russian artists SHAMAN and Oleg Gazmanov. The State Duma has received an initiative to include songs by these authors in the music curriculum. According to parliamentarians, the innovation is possible already from September 1, 2025.

"Everything should be fascinating, then it will be sincere. To advise something to young people, you need to have a terrific sense of taste. And then there will be a guarantee that children will not turn away from it, they will appreciate it," Bashmet believes.

The People's Artist believes that Oleg Gazmanov is a performer whose work has been tested over the years. He lived and grew up with all the changes in this country, kept up with the times. He is loved by the public.

"As for SHAMAN, I am not very familiar with his creativity yet. The fact that he has data, it is unconditional," the People's Artist of the USSR clarified.

According to VTsIOM, SHAMAN is the most popular artist. 38% of respondents voted for him. In second place is Oleg Gazmanov with 19%. As Yuri Abramovich says, it means that SHAMAN has hit the time in the state of youth.

"I think it is a fashionable story, and apparently it is in tune with the times. I can only wish him to improve his professional qualities, and that he doesn't forget about taste. I listened to his rendition of the Russian National Anthem. It's strange to me - with what a tear he sings it. It is very beautiful music. Russia has the most beautiful anthem in the world. And SHAMAN sang it in a chic pop style. It seems to me that it should be performed the way its author wrote it," commented Bashmet.

The maestro admitted that he played the guitar himself and even had his own band. Also, he is very fond of everything talented, with good taste, in any genre.
