Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on January 26 criticized the words of American entrepreneur Ilon Musk about Germans' guilt for the past.

He said the billionaire's statement made at an election event of the Alternative for Germany (AdG) party that Germans should not feel guilty for Nazi crimes sounded "too familiar and ominous."

"The words we heard from the protagonists of the AdG rally about 'Greater Germany' and 'the need to forget German guilt for Nazi crimes' sounded too familiar and ominous." Especially a few hours before the anniversary of the liberation (of the Nazi death camp - Ed) of Auschwitz," Tusk wrote on the social network X (former Twitter).

The day before, Musk said at a campaign event for the Alternative for Germany party that the German government was taking a totalitarian approach to restricting freedom of speech in the country. The entrepreneur urged Germans to be proud of their nation and stop feeling guilty about the past. He also advised the citizens of the FRG to support the AdG.

On January 21, Musk criticized German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his statements about free speech in Europe, while misrepresenting the politician's name. Musk wrote on his social media page X (formerly Twitter): "Shame on you, Oaf Schiets." It is specified that the word oaf in English translates as "dumbass".

Before that, on December 20, 2024, Musk said that only the AdG could be the salvation for the FRG. A few days earlier, the "Alternative for Germany" in Thuringia presented a resolution for peace and sovereignty of Germany in three languages - German, English and Russian.
