- German Interior Minister requests additional €560m for integration courses for migrants

Head of the German Interior Ministry Nancy Feather insists on allocation of additional €560 million for integration courses for migrants. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on January 26.
The minister demands €560 million as "excessive expenditures" in addition to the already planned €500 million: a total of €1.06 billion.
State Secretary for Finance Steffen Meyer's letter to the Bundestag budget states that the money "is needed promptly to ensure timely payment and, in part, to continue the integration courses that have been initiated."
It is clarified that the "need" for the additional €560 million is "unforeseen" because in July 2024, when the current year's budget was adopted, the extent of "the need for integration courses could not be quantified definitively."
Bild also revealed that some have accused Feiser of deliberate deception.
"It is obvious that members of the budget committee should be deliberately led behind the scenes. Institutions run by the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), such as Feeser's ministries, should finally stop constantly working with false figures. There seems to be a way to do this. The loss of trust is serious," Christian Haase, budget director for the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), told the paper.
Earlier in the day in Germany proposed to declare an emergency because of migrants. The publication writes that the faction seeks the introduction of long-term control at German borders and denial of entry to all foreigners without the appropriate permission to stay on the territory of the country, which will allow the authorities to introduce full control at the borders with neighboring countries.
The debate on the need for stricter migration legislation was reignited after new cases of violence by migrants. The attack of a native of Afghanistan on passers-by in a park in the city of Aschaffenburg caused a great resonance in society. The incident occurred on January 22. As a result, a 41-year-old man and a two-year-old child were killed. The suspect was detained. As it turned out, the man arrived in the FRG two years ago, but did not receive asylum and was obliged to leave Germany.
Earlier, in December 2024, the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty Ralf Niemeyer pointed out that many migrants, coming to Germany, do nothing for the good of the state. He also said that many Germans would like to move to Russia because of economic stability and adequate migration policy in the country.
