A political scientist declared a new stage in the development of local self-government in the Russian Federation

A new stage in the development of local self-government bodies is beginning in Russia, political scientist Vladimir Shapovalov told Izvestia.

"In 2020, amendments were made to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. One of the key amendments is the creation of a unified system of public power. Bringing different levels of public power closer to each other, the integration of local government into the system of public power, is the purpose of the new law," explained the political scientist.

Earlier in Murmansk the first regional session of the II All-Russian Municipal Forum "Small Motherland - the Power of Russia" took place. At it the participants discussed issues of environmental protection.
