Russians have found a new way to cash in matkapital

Russian citizens have found a new way to cash in their maternity capital - for this purpose, it has more often been directed to the funded pension. The fact is that last year the authorities allowed Russians to receive the balance of the certificate up to 10 thousand rubles in the form of a lump-sum payment. We are talking about unused funds of the matkapital, which remained after most of it was spent (for example, on a mortgage or education). Experts told "Izvestia" that people who had an amount on their account in excess of the required amount for withdrawal (more than 10 thousand), came up with a way to take this money.
The scheme looks like this: if a citizen has, for example, 11,000 left in his account, then 1,000 of the certificate's funds would be allocated to the funded pension, and the remaining 10,000 would be withdrawn, a source in the pension market explained to the editorial board.
This is confirmed by statistics: in 2024, twice as many citizens directed the funds of the matkapital to the funded pension, according to the report of the Accounts Chamber on the execution of the budget of the Social Fund. As of October last year, there were almost 8 thousand such requests, while for the same period of 2023 - only about 4 thousand.
Russians have indeed become more and more often use the opportunity to cash out the rest of the matkapital, transferring amounts in excess of the allowed pension, agreed Freedom Finance Global analyst Vladimir Chernov. According to him, such a scheme contributes to the safety of these funds and the receipt of payments. People want to get the money in cash now.
