The U.S. says U.S. intelligence officials are out of control

US Vice President J.D. Vance said that US intelligence officials are "out of control" and supported the candidacy of former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, nominated by President Donald Trump for the post of Director of National Intelligence. This was reported by Reuters on January 26.
As the agency notes, the selection of Gabbard for the post of Director of National Intelligence in November caused a shock in the national security agencies, increasing fears that the intelligence community will become increasingly politicized. It has been noted that the former Democratic congresswoman does not have significant intelligence experience and has previously criticized Trump.
"The officials in our intelligence agencies are completely out of control. They have been part of the process of turning our political system into a weapon, as well as our justice system," Reuters quoted Vance as saying in an interview with CBS television.
Gabbard previously said in November 2024 that Trump's goal is to prevent World War III. She noted that all diplomatic measures should be tried before sending U.S. military forces to hot spots, and this is one of the reasons why many Americans voted for Trump.
