The AFU attacked Energodar, a satellite town of ZNPP, with a drone

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attacked the satellite town of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) Enerhodar with a drone. This was reported on January 26 by the acting head of the city Maxim Pukhov.

"Today for the second time in a week recorded an attempt by the AFU to attack Energodar", - stated in his Telegram-channel.

It is noted that the Ukrainian drone was shot down in the center of the city. As a result of the destruction and casualties are not.

According to the Deputy head of Energodar, the task of such attacks are to disrupt the functioning of the city and create panic among residents.

Earlier, on January 22, it was reported about the attack of four drones on Energodar. Then the city authorities specified that there were no casualties, there was no information about destruction, no fires followed. On the same day, the communications director of the ZAE) Yevgeniya Yashina said that the target of the attacks of the AFU drones was civilian infrastructure.

Before that, on January 17, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that explosions near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant occur daily.

Zaporizhzhya region, where the nuclear power plant is located, became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022. Since that time, Zaporizhzhya NPP has been under constant IAEA control.
