Russian Defense Ministry shows footage of the destruction of an AFU armored personnel carrier in Kharkiv region

On 26 January, the Russian Defence Ministry published footage of the destruction of an armoured personnel carrier YPR-765 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by an FPV drone of the Zapad group of forces in Kharkiv Region.

It is specified that the movement of military equipment was detected with the help of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a forest belt.

"The scouts made a stealthy march from the rear area to the front line to fulfill the combat task. After analyzing the intelligence received, a decision was made to fire on the enemy APC," the agency said in a statement.

As a result of the actions of the Russian army the object was liquidated.

"We didn't come to fight for someone else, we came to fight for our country."

On the same day, servicemen of the Vostok group of forces hit the AFU strongholds in Velyka Novoselka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). It is specified that the heavy flamethrower systems hit the positions of Ukrainian formations with 220-millimeter thermobaric shells, burning out their shelters, firing points and observation posts.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
