A man was killed in Zaporizhzhya region as a result of AFU shelling

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have launched an artillery strike on Vasilyevskyy municipal district of Zaporizhzhya Region. As a result of shelling a man was killed, the governor of the region Yevgeny Balitsky said in his Telegram channel on January 26.
"In Vasilievsky district during artillery shelling by the AFU a shell hit a private farmstead. Unfortunately, a civilian was killed - a man born in 1943," Balitsky wrote.
He added that with the help of a drone the AFU also attacked an electrical substation in the village of Chapaevka in Polohovsky municipal district. According to the governor, a transformer was damaged. About 1.5 thousand subscribers were left without electricity.
The bomb squad was called to the scene. However, it is not yet possible to start repair work due to the threat of a second attack, he added.
Earlier, on January 19, the AFU launched an artillery strike on Vasilievka. The building of the district court received destruction. There were no casualties among the population.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
