Israel has not forgotten what the Russian people contributed to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the country will be represented at the Victory Parade in Moscow in 2025. This was announced by Israeli Ambassador to the Russian Federation Simona Halperin on January 26.

"Certainly, I promise already in advance: I will participate [in the parade] this year as well," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

She pointed out that historical facts cannot change because of geopolitical or some other circumstances. The ambassador recalled that the Israeli parliament decided back in 2017 to celebrate Victory Day on May 9.

However, in 2025 the situation is special: the 80th anniversary of the Victory is celebrated, and therefore the Israeli Embassy will hold events throughout the year dedicated to this and related commemorations. For example, on the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust, which is celebrated on January 27, an event is planned, which is organized jointly with the German Embassy in Moscow.

Earlier, on January 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Victory Parade and said that in 2025 the Russian Federation is preparing to worthily celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the memory of which is sacred to Moscow and Beijing.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on December 19, 2024 that the Russian Federation will invite representatives of the anti-Hitler coalition countries - an association of states that fought against the Axis countries (Germany, Italy, Japan and their allies) during World War II - to celebrate Victory Day in 2025, Gazeta.Ru adds. By the end of hostilities with Japan, the coalition included 54 countries

In addition, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on December 14 that he had agreed with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow.
