Germany has proposed declaring an emergency because of migrants

Representatives of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) faction intend to put to a vote in the Bundestag a resolution with proposals on migration policy, which contains a clause on the need to declare an emergency in Germany due to the influx of illegal migrants. This was reported by the newspaper Bild on January 26.
The publication writes that the faction seeks the introduction of long-term control at German borders and denial of entry to all foreigners without the appropriate permission to stay in the country, which will allow the authorities to introduce full control at the borders with neighboring countries.
In addition, the conservatives want potentially dangerous migrant individuals to be detained without time limits and propose that the police be empowered to independently issue arrest warrants for people to be deported.
"The resolution is scheduled to be put to a vote next week," Bild specifies.
The discussion on the need to tighten migration laws was renewed after new cases of violence by migrants. The attack of a native of Afghanistan on passers-by in a park in the city of Aschaffenburg caused a great resonance in society. The incident occurred on January 22. As a result, a 41-year-old man and a two-year-old child were killed. The suspect was detained. As it turned out, the man arrived in the FRG two years ago, but did not receive asylum and was obliged to leave Germany.
Earlier, in December 2024, the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty Ralf Niemeyer pointed out that many migrants, coming to Germany, do nothing for the good of the state. He also said that many Germans would like to move to Russia because of economic stability and adequate migration policy in the country.
