New fuel oil emissions were recorded on the Black Sea coastline


New fuel oil emissions have been detected at 17 sites on the Black Sea coast. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on January 26.
"On 17 sites with a length of more than 63 km local emissions of fractions of oil products were recorded, they are being eliminated," - said in the message of the agency in its Telegram-channel.
For all the time of work on liquidation of fuel oil spill specialists and volunteers cleaned more than 303 km of the coast, collected more than 175 thousand tons of contaminated sand and removed 134 thousand tons to temporary storage sites. In addition, 153 square kilometers of water space in the Black Sea water area were inspected during the day, 5090 square kilometers were checked in total. Sorbent for the day treated 2.3 thousand square meters of water area, for the whole time - 48.7 thousand square meters. m.
Divers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations use teleoperated underwater vehicles to inspect sunken parts of wrecked tankers and collect fuel oil from the bottom. Bags with oil products are then lifted to the surface and brought to the shore to be utilized.
On the eve, January 25, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev said that the specialists of the Morspassluzhba have fully completed pumping out fuel oil from the tanker "Volgoneft-239", which sits aground near Cape Panagia in the Krasnodar Territory, reports "Gazeta.Ru".
