Basmanny court arrests British man who swore in the street for five days
The Basmanny court of Moscow has arrested a British citizen who was swearing in the street for five days. The court materials of the case were received by Izvestia on January 26.
"On January 23, 2025, a British citizen, being in a public place (on the street), committed a violation of public order, expressing a clear disrespect for society, namely, expressed profanity, did not respond to the remarks of citizens," - stated in the documents.
It is specified that at the court hearing the British citizen did not admit guilt in committing an administrative offense. According to him, he just wanted to spend time with his fiancée.
In addition, the defense side of the accused stated that the British citizen does not speak Russian, in connection with which, he simply could not express himself with profanity. In addition, the defense lawyer stated that the witnesses referred to by the police officers in their explanations had not been interviewed and their explanations had not been attached to the materials.
Basmanny court of the capital on January 24 appointed the offender a punishment in the form of administrative arrest for five days.
Earlier, on January 9, in Ulan-Ude a case was initiated after the beating of two people by teenagers on New Year's Eve. The investigative department of the Oktyabrsky district of the city opened a criminal case against three young people aged 17-18 years old under paragraph "a" of part 3 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health committed by a group of persons") and part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism committed by a group of persons").
