Servicemen of the Vostok group of forces have hit the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Velyka Novoselka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 26.
Rocket and barrel artillery crews and FPV drone operators provide fire support for the attacking aircraft, hitting AFU fire points, equipment and manpower.
It is specified that the heavy flamethrower systems hit the positions of Ukrainian formations with 220-mm thermobaric shells, burning out their shelters, firing points and observation posts.
The Defense Ministry also informed that at the moment Velyka Novoselka is the last large and well-prepared defense line and logistics hub of the AFU in the South Donetsk direction.
Earlier, on January 24, the Armed Forces (AFU) of the Russian Federation installed a Russian flag on one of the buildings in the center of Velyka Novoselka. It is noted that the assault units of the Russian Army managed to split Velikaya Novoselka into two parts, block the AFU formations and proceed to defeat them.
