TheUS has significant prospects in the economy due to the large amount of oil and gas. This was announced by US President Donald Trump at a speech in Las Vegas on January 25.

"I have declared an energy emergency to unlock the liquid gold beneath our feet. The United States has the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth," he said.

He also added that the United States could soon become a much larger country.

Furthermore, Trump pointed out the superiority of the U.S. natural resources over Saudi Arabia's capabilities.

"Saudi Arabia just said that they're going to invest at least $600 billion. That's because of the election, by the way. And I believe they're going to do a trillion. I'm going to ask them to do a trillion. <...> You know where they made their money? Out of liquid gold, right? <...> We have more. We have more than anybody else. We just don't use the resources because of the environment," he concluded.

Earlier, on January 23, Trump said he was ready to seek a reduction in the price of oil from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Saudi Arabia. He said that such an economic solution is necessary, among other things, to pressure Russia on Ukraine.

On the same day, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov said that Trump has no leverage to pressure Russia. The senator emphasized that it is useless to speak from a position of strength with Moscow.

Before that, on January 22, Trump threatened to raise taxes and impose new sanctions on Russian exports to the United States if the conflict in Ukraine is not resolved soon. The American president called the "deal" itself a favor he was doing for the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on January 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow was open to a dialog with the new US presidential administration on the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, the goal of the settlement is not a brief truce, but a long-term peace based on respect for people's legitimate interests, he emphasized.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
