Hockey player Malkin was unable to finish the game against Seattle due to injury

Russian forward Evgeni Malkin, who plays for the American hockey club (HC) Pittsburgh Penguins, was forced to leave the game against the Seattle Kraken due to injury. This was reported by Sportsnet on January 25.
Malkin collided with Seattle forward Chandler Stephenson resulting in a knee injury.
The hockey player tried to stay in, but after playing in his lineup, he did not return to the ice.
"Evgeni Malkin suffered a lower body injury and will not return to tonight's game," the Pittsburgh Penguins announced on social media X (formerly Twitter).
Prior to that, on December 24, 2024, Malkin became the third player in Pittsburgh history to score 500 (180+320) power play points and the second Russian in National Hockey League (NHL) history with such a set of points.
Earlier, on November 14, Malkin was presented with a golden stick in honor of 500 career pucks in the National Hockey League.
The forward became the second Russian to join the honorary "500 Club," which includes only 48 hockey players. Malkin scored his 500th goal on October 17 in a game against the Buffalo Sabres, allowing Pittsburgh to win 6-5 in overtime.
