Metropolitan Korchinsky was elected as the Vicar of the Albanian Church

Metropolitan Korchinski has been elected as the locum tenens of the Albanian Church. This was reported by Orthodox Times on January 25.

Following the death of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, the synod, after bidding farewell to its spiritual leader, elected a new locum tenens.

"Metropolitan Ioannis of Korchin was unanimously elected as the locum tenens of the archbishop's throne," the website informs.

In addition, it is reported that in honor of the late archbishop was declared a five-day mourning from January 25 to 29. The funeral will be held on January 30.
