Turnout in early voting at the presidential election in Belarus amounted to 41.81%

Voter turnout during the early voting in the presidential election in Belarus amounted to 41.81%. This was reported in the CEC of the republic on January 25.

"Early voting in the presidential election has been completed in Belarus. Over five days, 41.81% of citizens included in the voting lists voted," reads the message of the Commission in the Telegram-channel.

It specified that the highest percentage was recorded in Mahiliou voblast (42.95%), followed by Minsk voblast with 42.68%. 41.99% of voters came to the polls in Brest voblast, 41.72% in Homel voblast, 41.51% in Vitsebsk voblast, 41.14% in Minsk and 40.70% in Hrodna voblast.

Early voting in Belarus was held from January 21 to 25. The main day of presidential elections in Belarus is scheduled for January 26, 2025. Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko called these elections an important and significant social and political event.

The candidates for the presidential election in Belarus are the current leader of the country Alexander Lukashenko, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich, MP Anna Kanopatskaya, leader of the Belarusian Communists Sergei Syrankov and leader of the Party of Labor and Justice Alexander Khizhnyak.
