Filippo accused Zelensky of trying to derail the Ukraine peace process

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) is trying to disrupt the process of conflict settlement with Russia. This was stated by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, on 25 January.
According to him, Zelensky has been "cornered."
"While [ US President Donald] Trump and [Russian leader Vladimir] Putin agree to conduct peace talks, the Ukrainian politician is trying to find a thousand reasons to refuse peace," he wrote in the social network X (former Twitter).
Earlier, on January 24, Trump accused Zelensky of obstructing the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, a peace agreement with Russia was not reached, because the Ukrainian leader "wanted to fight."
In addition, Trump reported about the desire to meet with Putin as soon as possible to end the conflict in Ukraine. The leader of the United States noted that he intended to see the Russian president to stop the wasting of millions of lives.
On January 22, Zelensky admitted the possibility of talks with Putin if Trump gives Kiev security guarantees. According to him, the only question for him is what kind of guarantees we are talking about, and he wants to have that understanding before the talks.
The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, the Ukrainian president put into effect the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council that it was impossible to hold talks with Putin.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
