- Patrushev urged enterprises to stimulate schoolchildren's interest in shipbuilding

The development of interest in science and technology among school and lyceum students will contribute to the training of engineering personnel for the Russian shipbuilding industry, including the development of marine robotics. This was announced on January 25 by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation.
On this day the aide to the head of state and St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov visited Lyceum No. 211 named after Pierre de Coubertin, where they familiarized themselves with the work of engineering classes.
Patrushev and Beglov discussed further development of the educational institution, including participation of various shipbuilding enterprises in the educational process. The purpose of such implementation is for the lyceum students to see the application of engineering knowledge in action and the great demand for the profession.
"Here they (students. - Ed.) come here (to the lyceum. - Ed.), they start to show interest. It is important that it develops and grows. Then there will be a case, and they will want to go on to higher education. They will have a desire to reach for knowledge," Patrushev noted.
Lyceum No. 211 has become an ultramodern educational institution, which is focused on the study of natural science disciplines. According to Beglov, the programs of integration of educational institutions and enterprises are already being implemented. He noted that the future will be for those who will create an integrated education system in time.
The main idea of the development of Lyceum No. 211 named after Pierre de Coubertin is to create the necessary conditions for students to receive high quality competitive education, which can ensure their professional and social success in the world.
Within the framework of networking, the Lyceum closely cooperates with academic and industrial partners, including St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, United Shipbuilding Corporation, Baltic Shipyard and others.
Earlier, on December 19, 2024, President of the National Research Center (NRC) "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk said that the priority of work in the maritime industry is the development of new technologies for shipbuilding. He also noted that attention will be paid to the development of new Arctic materials, the creation of innovative nuclear power technologies for the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route and the construction of infrastructure for settlements along it, since without a developed coastal infrastructure all other achievements will be ineffective.
