Indonesian police have detained German citizen Andrei Frei, the head of the tourist complex PARQ Ubud, known as the "Russian village", in Bali. This was reported by Detik portal on Saturday, January 25.

"The suspect carried out activities to build villas, spas and livestock farms on protected rice fields and sustainable agricultural land, which are included in the food crops sub-zone without proper permits," the publication quoted a police spokesman as saying.

Earlier, on December 17, 2024, it became known that a group of Russian tourists were detained by the authorities of Tunisia.
