German engineer Rüdiger Koch lived 120 days underwater in a special capsule off the coast of Panama, thus breaking the world record. This is reported on January 25 by the TV channel France 24.

"59-year-old Rüdiger Koch came out of his 30-square-meter house underwater in the presence of a Guinness World Records judge," - stated in the material.

The German broke the world record of 100 days previously set by American Joseph Dituri.

"It was a great adventure, and now that it is over, there is actually even a sense of regret. I really enjoyed my time here," Koch said.

The German's capsule had most of the trappings of modern life, such as a bed, toilet, TV, computer, internet and exercise bike. It was at a depth of 11 meters, electricity was generated by solar panels.

Earlier, on January 13, it became known that nine-year-old Russian chess player Roman Shogdzhiev set a world record, becoming the youngest international master. The achievement was recorded in December 2024 at the RadnickiChess IM tournament in Belgrade, where he scored seven out of nine possible points, losing only to the winner Aut Atalik.
