Taiwan's Armed Forces reported the approach of 28 PRC aircraft and eight ships


Eight ships and 28 aircraft of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait and entered the Taiwan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). This was reported on the night of January 25 by the country's Ministry of Defense on the social network X.
"28 aircraft and eight ships operating around Taiwan were detected before 6 a.m. [1:00 a.m. Moscow time] today," the ministry's official account said.
It is specified that the Taiwanese authorities monitored the situation and were able to respond in time to the incident
On the eve of the Taiwanese Armed Forces recorded the approach of 10 aircraft and seven ships of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and their entry into the southwestern air defense zone of the island.
Earlier, on January 23, the Taiwanese Armed Forces recorded the approach of 35 aircraft and six PRC ships. 27 aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern air defense zones.
On December 20, 2024, it was reported that the U.S. State Department approved the possible sale of a military communications system and related equipment to Taipei's economic and cultural representative office in the United States at an estimated cost of $265 million. At the same time, current U.S. President Joe Biden authorized $571 million in military aid to Taiwan.
