The annual anti-abortion rally in Washington gathered a record number of participants - 150 thousand people from all over the country. This was reported on January 24 by the correspondent of "Izvestia" Anton Zolotnitsky.

"I agree 100% and I think that with God everything is possible. The Lord God is behind it," Noel, a local resident and one of the rally participants, shared her opinion.

Much of this great success of the conservative event is a credit to the newly elected US President Donald Trump, the reporter noted.

Another protester shared that the new abortion ban program is primarily a humanist move, not a political one.

"It's not a liberal, it's not a Democrat, it's not a Republican, it's a baby. And when I look at an ultrasound, I don't see a rock, I don't see a plant, I see a baby," he said.

According to the results of the Gallup Institute's annual poll, 69% of U.S. residents believe that abortion should be allowed in the first three months of pregnancy. At the same time, not only Democrats (86%) and independent voters (74%), but also almost half of Republicans (47%) are in favor of legalizing medical termination of pregnancy.
