Tennis player Kafelnikov joked about hockey player Ovechkin's records
Former world number one and two-time Grand Slam singles winner Yevgeny Kafelnikov spoke ironically about Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin's pursuit of Wayne Gretzky's NHL record. This was reported by Sport-Express on January 25.
"Of the next 20 pucks, 15 will be scored into empty gates," Kafelnikov wrote in his social network.
Earlier, on January 21, Alexander Ovechkin said that he has a hard time scoring goals because he has to play against very strong defenders. The forward added that hockey is a team sport, you can not act alone.
Before that, on January 17, Ovechkin reduced the gap from Gretzky to 20 goals, scoring a puck in overtime of the regular season National Hockey League (NHL) match against the Ottawa Senators. The puck was the only one of the game and helped Washington win the game.
