The Russian Government proposed to recognize property documents in new regions

The Russian State Duma has been submitted a draft law proposing to recognize as valid documents on the registration of real estate rights in new regions of Russia that were previously issued by Ukraine. Such a document was sent to the State Duma by the Government on Friday, January 24.

The Government indicated the peculiarities of recognition in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR, LNR), as well as in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions of documents on registration of rights to real estate, valid in these subjects on the day of their admission to the Russian Federation.

At the same time, it is specified that the norms of local legislation should not have been violated when receiving the documents.

Documents issued by the Ukrainian government after the accession of the new regions to Russia will not be recognized as valid.

If the law is adopted, its provisions will take effect 90 days after publication.

Earlier, on July 23, 2024, in the State Duma introduced a bill that provides for the abolition of transport tax in the new regions of the Russian Federation: DNR and LNR, as well as in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. It was specified that the abolition of transport tax should apply only to one vehicle owned by a resident of the new regions of the Russian Federation.
