Turnout for four days of early voting at the elections in Belarus amounted to 35.99%
Almost 36% of the total number of citizens voted in the early voting in the presidential election in Belarus over four days. This was reported by BelTA agency on January 24, referring to the data of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the republic.
It is specified that the highest turnout was recorded in Brest and Homel voblasts, where 37.78% and 36.57% of voters voted. In Minsk voblast, 36.5% of residents cast their votes.
Presidential elections in Belarus are scheduled for January 26, 2025. Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko called the upcoming elections an important and significant socio-political event.
Earlier, January 21, it became known that early voting for the presidential election had begun in Belarus. Polling stations will be open from 12:00 to 19:00 without interruption.
Earlier, January 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished success in the presidential elections to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
The candidates for the presidential election in Belarus are incumbent leader of the country Alexander Lukashenko, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich, MP Anna Kanopatskaya, leader of the Belarusian Communists Sergei Syrankov and leader of the Party of Labor and Justice Alexander Khizhnyak.
