Coach of the Russian women's wrestling team Ismatzoda put on the terrorist list

Alishery Ismatzoda, coach of the Russian women's freestyle wrestling team, has been put on the list of terrorists and extremists. This is evidenced by the data on the website of Rosfinmonitoring.

"Individuals: <...> Ismatzoda Alisheri Kamalidin, born April 5, 1992, district Kumsangir of the Republic of Tajikistan," the list said.

In July 2024, it became known about the detention of Ismatzoda on suspicion of promoting terrorist activity. At the same time, the investigation applied to the Shcherbinsky court with a petition for the arrest of the coach. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Facilitating terrorist activity"). It was noted that during the search at the defendant was found extremist literature. Also, the defendant transferred money to a person who was criminally prosecuted under the article on terrorism.

Later, in December of the same year, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Ismatzoda to nine years in prison in the case of financing the terrorist group "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia).
