Putin was surprised by the size of the average salary in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the MSU Board of Trustees, was surprised that the average salary in Moscow is about 160 thousand rubles.
"Salaries, working conditions, including for young specialists, should correspond to the status of the country's leading university. Still, in my opinion, it lags a little behind the average in Moscow," he clarified, addressing the capital's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin.
When Putin heard that the average income in Moscow is about 160 thousand rubles, he asked with surprise: "Really? More!".
Sobyanin, in turn, confirmed this figure. In response, the Russian leader added that in this case, the university has met the established standards.
Earlier, on January 20, it became known that cases of salary increases of more than 20% were noted in the following industries: logistics (in 36% of the companies that announced salary increases), IT (18%), construction (15%), production of chemical raw materials (11%), automotive business (10%) and medicine and pharmaceuticals (2%). Almost half of the companies that raised salaries (45%) say they did so by increasing the salary component, 13% attribute it to increased bonuses, and 41% attribute it to an increase in both components.
