NPFs paid 129 billion rubles in pensions to Russians in 2024

From January to September 2024, non-governmental pension funds (NPFs) paid 129 billion rubles to Russians, which exceeded the figures for the same period in 2023 by 9%. This is reported in a study by analysts at NPF Decent Future, who studied the regional distribution of pension fund payments based on data from the Bank of Russia. Izvestia reviewed this study on January 24.
Most of the payments to NPFs are funds transferred within the framework of non-governmental pension provision (NGO): 81 billion rubles — almost the same as in the first III quarters of the previous year. Under compulsory pension insurance (OPS) contracts, payments reached 49 billion rubles during the reporting period, which is 29% more than in the same period of 2023.
Among the regions where NPFs made the largest payments in the three quarters of 2024 were: Moscow (18.0 billion rubles), Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (10.4 billion rubles), Moscow Region (7.3 billion rubles), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (5.2 billion rubles), St. Petersburg (4.5 billion rubles).
Earlier, on January 20, experts told Izvestia that href="https://iz.ru/1825402/2025-01-20/eksperty-rasskazali-o-deistviiakh-v-sluchae-reorganizatcii-chastnogo-pensionnogo-fonda " target="_blank">how to act if an NPF is undergoing reorganization. According to experts, when several funds merge and undergo a reorganization procedure, their clients should not worry. Their funds are protected by law, and no additional actions or renegotiation of contracts are required. The combined fund, by way of succession, will continue to fulfill all obligations to clients (pension payments, investment of funds, etc.). Usually the process is comfortable for clients, the funds necessarily inform them about the beginning of the reorganization and all stages of the merger.
