Musk announced a test direct Internet connection of Starlink to phones

The entrepreneur reported this on the social network X (ex. Twitter) in response to a post stating that connecting to satellites directly will allow you to use the Internet anywhere in the world without having to receive a signal from ground-based cell towers.
"Beta testing of direct Internet connection from Starlink satellites to mobile phones will begin in three days," the entrepreneur said in a statement.
Earlier, on December 4, 2024, SpaceX announced that the Falcon 9 launch vehicle href="https://iz.ru/1801930/2024-12-05/raketa-spacex-vyvela-na-orbitu-24-mini-sputnika-dlia-internet-pokrytiia-starlink"> launched 24 mini-satellites into orbit for the Starlink Internet coverage network.
Prior to that, on October 27, the company's press service reported that the new satellites were successful href="https://iz.ru/1780986/2024-10-27/kompaniia-spacex-vyvela-na-orbitu-novye-sputniki-internet-seti-starlink " target="_blank">launched into orbit for the operation of the global orbital Internet network Starlink. In total, 22 objects were launched into orbit.
In July, SpaceX was unable to launch Starlink satellites into orbit due to the failure of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. During the launch, one of the spacecraft's engines failed to cope with the task, as a result of which the satellites were deployed at a lower orbital altitude than originally planned.
Then the head of the development company, Elon Musk, said that the satellites were not capable of rising to the required altitude on their own. The malfunction of the Falcon 9 was the first in the last seven years of uninterrupted operation of the rocket.
