In Khabarovsk, police officers detained a travel agent who deceived her clients out of hundreds of thousands of rubles. This was announced on January 24 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region in the Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, the 31-year-old fraudster signed contracts with clients for travel, after which the clients transferred money to her relative's card or gave it in cash. The woman told the victims about buying air tickets and booking hotels.

"The preliminary amount of damage caused was about 900 thousand rubles," the statement said.

A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

On January 24, a criminal fraud case was opened against two Muscovites aged 16 and 18 for defrauding a 63-year-old resident of the capital for 6 million rubles. It was clarified that the scammers called the woman, posing as government officials, and informed her that the money on her cards was at risk. In order to supposedly save the funds, she was advised to urgently cash out her savings and transfer them to a "secure account."
