The European Union (EU) has greatly underestimated its dependence on Russian energy resources and will pay for it. This was announced on January 24 by Irish journalist Chase Bowes.

"It was these [Russian] energy resources that contributed to industrial growth and stability in Europe," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to him, self—destruction on an industrial scale is a priority of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and her predecessors.

"And you will pay for it," the journalist concluded.

The journalist attached to the publication an image of the painting "Horse and Train" by Canadian artist Alex Colville, to which Bose added the flags of the European Union and Russia — on the horse and train running towards the train, respectively.

Earlier, on January 13, it was reported that Moldova for the first time since the beginning of the crisis href="https://iz.ru/1821405/2025-01-13/moldaviia-14-ianvaria-vpervye-s-nachala-krizisa-stolknetsia-s-nekhvatkoi-elektrichestva"> will face a shortage of electricity. She couldn't reserve enough energy. It is specified that Energocom actively encourages citizens to reduce electricity consumption.

On the same day, Alice Weidel, Chairman and candidate for Chancellor of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), stated that power outages in Germany will continue, as the country is a net importer of French nuclear energy and has the world's highest prices in the energy sector.
