The neurologist spoke about the impact of magnetic storms on human health

According to the doctor, as a rule, healthy people do not notice a magnetic storm and learn about it only from the news. It can affect well-being in patients with disorders of the autonomic nervous system, since such people are more susceptible to meteorological changes. People with diseases of the liver, kidneys, cardiovascular and neuromuscular systems, arthritis, and epilepsy may not feel well.
"The fact is that the oscillation of the earth's electromagnetic field triggers small changes in the body — the viscosity of the blood may slightly increase, the tone of the capillary walls may change. All this affects blood flow and, consequently, well-being. Specific symptoms often depend on a person's chronic diseases, but mostly people complain of heart failure (they occur due to changes in vagus nerve tone), dizziness and headache (this often occurs due to changes in blood pressure), aching joint pain," explained the expert.
If a magnetic storm lasts a long time or the fluctuations are strong, the bioelectric activity of the brain is disrupted in humans, the doctor said. A condition similar to overwork may appear: dizzy, sleepy, there is a feeling of pressure in the eyeballs, vision becomes blurred. A person feels weak, lethargic, unable to concentrate. At such a time, performance decreases, it becomes more difficult to endure physical exertion — fatigue appears faster, laziness to work with your hands, you do not want to go to training.
"If the influence of magnetic storms is particularly strong, you need to improve your health and treat chronic diseases — this will reduce weather sensitivity. You can also prepare for a magnetic storm.: if possible, adjust the regime, go to bed and get up at the same time, sleep for at least eight hours, exercise and walk outdoors every day, drink enough water, do not overwork, avoid stress," Demyanovskaya emphasized.
She added that it is important to pay attention to nutrition: do not drink alcohol, energy drinks, coffee, tea, cocoa, reduce the amount of sweets and fatty foods in the diet, eat more protein (lean meat, fish, eggs, milk), vegetables and fruits. You can connect hardening, balneotherapy. All this will help alleviate the condition and survive the magnetic storm without significantly reducing well-being, the doctor explained.
Earlier, on December 25, Svetlana Kuprina, internist, doctor of the INVITRO-Voronezh Medical Center, told Izvestia that during periods of magnetic storms it is especially important to avoid excessive physical and emotional stress. You also need maintain an optimal indoor climate, have the necessary medications with you and consult a doctor in a timely manner if you feel unwell.
