- The State Duma introduced a bill on the release of SVO volunteers from military service

A bill has been submitted to the State Duma for consideration, which provides for the exemption of volunteers of a special military operation (SVO) from conscription. The relevant document was published on January 24 in an electronic base.
"The bill is supposed to exempt from conscription persons who joined volunteer formations during a special military operation in the territories Of Ukraine, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Luhansk People's Republic since February 24, 2022, in the territories of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions since September 30, 2022," the explanatory note says.
The authors of the document noted that currently the rules on exemption from conscription do not apply to members of volunteer formations. According to parliamentarians, this state of affairs leads to a resonance in society, adds href="https://www.gazeta.ru/army/news/2025/01/24/24913658.shtml?utm_source=yxnews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fdzen.ru%2Fnews%2Finstory%2F6bbcdb8c-92f7-5b3e-aa36-6093e79d2609 " target="_blank">"The newspaper.Ru».
In addition, it is noted that such measures will restore justice to volunteers and eliminate the "legal gap."
Earlier, on January 23, it became known that the Russian government will allocate 11.3 billion rubles to the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. It was noted that the funds will be allocated from the federal budget on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin Putin. They will be used for one-time payments to members of the SVO who have been injured, resulting in disability.
