Russian students told about their monthly expenses

Research: one third of students live on Br15 thousand a month

Most Russian students spend from Br11 thousand to Br15 thousand per month (29%) or from Br16 thousand to Br20 thousand per month (26%). This is stated in the results of a study of analysts of UMoneu wallet, which were presented to "Izvestia" on January 25. The experts surveyed more than 1.5 thousand students of universities and colleges on the eve of Student Day.

At the same time 12% of respondents named the amount of Br21 thousand to Br25 thousand, the same number - Br36 thousand to Br40 thousand. 6% live on Br46-50 thousand a month and Br51-60 thousand a month. 2% spend from Br26 thousand to Br30 thousand, from Br71 thousand to Br80 thousand and from Br91 thousand to Br100 thousand a month. Only 3% of students spend Br100 thousand or more per month.

The experts found out that 43% of the main source of income remains the financial assistance of parents. A little less (37%) earn on their own. 11% of respondents said that they work part-time and receive scholarships or grants. Among other things, students also mentioned financial support from a loved one, financial aid and benefits from the state.

Respondents spent the most on food (51%) and travel (33%). 15% each said that their main expenditures are on renting accommodation and going to cafes and restaurants. Another 7% of students spend a lot of money on beauty treatments, 5% of students say that they spend a lot of money on going to the cinema, theaters and clubs, and 4% - on educational courses.

It follows from the results of the study that 40% after entering a university or college continue to live with their parents, a little less (35%) rent an apartment or a room. Another 12% live in a hostel, and 9% live in their own apartments.

More than a quarter of survey participants (26%) said that they cannot combine work and study. In addition, 20% do not work yet but plan to start, 15% work part-time for a few hours a week, and 13% occasionally do freelance work. Only 9% of students work full-time, while the rest of the respondents earn income from blogging.

Earlier, January 23, it was reported that the maternity maternity pay for female students will increase by an order of magnitude: up to 74.9 thousand - 235.4 thousand rubles, depending on the region. This follows from the bill, which was developed by the Ministry of Labor. Changes will require additional expenditures from the federal budget, is indicated in the financial and economic justification to the document.
