In the village of Mikhailovskoye, Tver region, a bridge over the Valdai River collapsed, the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the region reported on Friday, January 24.

"Traffic to the village is carried out by a bypass road. The vital activity of the settlement has not been disrupted," the department's Telegram channel says.

The attached photo shows that the asphalt of the bridge cracked at both ends, after which its middle bent towards the river. The situation in the Bologovsky municipal district has been brought under control.

Prior to that, on January 4, it was reported that the bridge near the city of Corvallis in the U.S. state of Oregon href="https://iz.ru/1818201/2025-01-05/smi-soobshchili-o-padenii-vagona-poezda-v-reku-posle-obrusheniia-mosta-v-oregone " target="_blank">collapsed while a freight train was moving along it, one car with carbamide fell into the Marys River. A representative of the Portland and Western Railway company reported that there were no casualties. Local residents were advised to avoid visiting the area during the investigation.
